## Summary

#### Overview
**The State Trading Corporation seeks to rent two trucks for distribution of essential commodities to retail shops across Mauritius.** Prospective service providers with at least two years’ proven food-distribution experience in Mauritius, valid driver licenses, and appropriate fleet and insurance arrangements should consider bidding (EOI/STC/2026/19).

#### Requirements
- Personnel
  - Options for crew: Truck only; Truck with driver; Truck with a full team (Driver/Salesman/Helper)
  - Driver and helpers must hold valid driving licenses and Certificate of Character; drivers must know the Mauritian road network and retail locations.
- Contractor qualifications
  - Minimum of two years’ proven experience in distribution of food products in Mauritius.
- Vehicles
  - Closed-body truck, 3.5–5 MT capacity; two goods carrier vehicles not older than 10 years.
  - Vehicles dedicated to STC during operating hours; no unapproved redeployments.
  - Certificate of fitness for all trucks; replacements provided promptly on breakdown.
  - Comprehensive documents (e.g., carrier’s license) to be submitted.
- Distribution operations
  - Daily distance per truck: ~45–190 km; products include rice, flour, milk powder, pulses, edible oil in packs ≤25 kg.
  - Deliveries six days a week (Mon–Sat); check-in ~07:00, check-out ~15:00.
- Insurance and responsibilities
  - Maintain motor vehicle insurance and other legally required coverage; STC insures its officers and goods in transit.
  - Option 3 (full team) contractors bear insurance for vehicles, crew, and cash in transit.
- Duration
  - Initial contract for three months, renewable month-to-month subject to performance.
