## Summary

#### Overview
**Four-year term contract for mechanical and other related major plant and machinery installation, maintenance, repair, refurbishment and upgrade for Southern Operations (Eastern Cape and Western Cape).** Suitable bidders are heavy engineering/maintenance contractors with CIDB 8ME or higher, capable of associated electrical work (or subcontracting an EP CIDB) and operating in Eastern and/or Western Cape; joint ventures allowed with lead partner meeting the higher CIDB grade. Local content and regulatory compliance are mandatory. 

#### Requirements
- CIDB grading: 8ME or higher for the relevant area; lead partner if JV; demonstrable electrical experience or subcontract EP. 
- JV rules: every member CIDB-registered; lead partner meets required grade; combined grade meets ME threshold. 
- Compliance: CIDB active registration; CSD (National Treasury); SARS tax compliance; COID registration; authority to sign bid ( Annexure I ); compulsory declarations; no conflicts of interest. 
- Site/quality: attend compulsory site briefing; Annexure A attendance; Phase 2 quality minimum 70/100; workshop evaluation minimum 70/100. 
- Returnable documents: complete SBD 1, 3.2, 4, 6.1; price schedules; Annexures J, K, L, M, N, O, plus DTi Annexes for local content. 
- Other: local content calculations; capacity to provide workshop facilities within prescribed radius; health and safety compliance.
