## Summary

#### Overview
**The RFQ seeks the manual preparation of thinnings for a forwarder amounting to 3,000 m3 in specified South African forestry areas.** Suitable bidders are forestry/harvesting service providers with proven manual thinning experience, certified chainsaw operators, and the capacity to meet SAFCOL’s safety, quality and labour requirements (SANAS SANAS or EME/QSE sworn affidavit for B-BBEE, tax clearance, and CSD registration). #### Requirements
- Experience: ≥2 years in manual and/or hand-roll thinning; proof via reference letters (company name, contact, start/end dates).  
- Safety/standards: comply with SAFCOL SHEQ, BOPs, FSC, OHSA, BCEA, and FESA guidelines; on-site safety roles (First Aider, SHE Rep, Safety Officer).  
- Equipment/people: on-site team of at least 7 chainsaw operators, 10 manual stackers, 8 log scalers/pushers; operators trained by SAQA-registered facilitators; yearly chainsaw refresher.  
- Labour: local recruitment where practical; valid IDs/work permits; WCF good standing and UIF; minimum wage; employment contracts; medical screenings; training certificates.  
- Ancillaries/vehicles: PPE, first aid, fire protection, radios, EN 381-5 B+20 compliant chainsaw trousers, etc.; drivers with valid licenses and PrDP; roadworthy vehicles with current fitness certificates.  
- Legal/financial: public liability with forestry spread-of-fire extension; pricing in R/m3 VAT inclusive; returnable docs including tax clearance, BBBEE (SANAS or sworn affidavit), CSD/MAAA number.  
- Pricing: all-inclusive R/m3; price components (overheads, plant, labour, markup).  
- Returnables: RFQ, official letterhead quotation, latest tax clearance, BBBEE/swear affidavit, CK docs, CSD/MAAA, SBD forms.
