## Description

Notice: Amendment of agreement SMT36/23/24 – Management Of The Bontebok Waste Disposal Facility

Notice is hereby given in terms of Section 116 (3) of the Local Government: Municipal Finance Management Act, (Act 56 of 2003) that Swellendam Municipality intends to amend its existing Agreement with Raaleborg Environmental (Pty) Ltd for the Management of the Bontebok Waste Disposal Facility, for a 2-year period from 01 July 2027 to 30 June 2029. The proposed amendment is to ensure continued regulatory assurance, operational stability, effective airspace management and mitigation of legal, environmental and financial risks. The facility has limited remaining landfill airspace and continuity of service is required to avoid potential regulatory action and additional costs. The estimated value of the proposed amendment for the 2-year period ending 30 June 2029 is R16 434 800.54 (including VAT). The current contract value is estimated at R20 288 830,66 (including VAT), with actual expenditure to date amounting to R13 146 481,08 (including VAT). The public is invited to submit representations to the Swellendam Municipality by 14 August 2026 at 11:00 at the address provided.
