## Summary

#### Overview
**This Request for Information (RFI) seeks market input on Laboratory Information System (LIS) solutions for NHLS.** It is for information purposes only and does not constitute a procurement commitment. Vendors with large-scale LIS deployments, healthcare domain experience (South Africa preferred), and capability to integrate with HIS/PAS/ERP, meet interoperability standards (HL7 v2.5; optional FHIR/XML), and comply with ISO/POPIA controls should consider engaging.

#### Requirements
- Functional capabilities: order/requisition management; specimen tracking; test/workload management; result management; reporting; quality management; forensic chain of custody; billing integration; referrals; analytics; inventory; standards (SNOMED CT, LOINC, ICD-10/11).
- Technical: single authoritative data source; min 99.9% availability; scalable for ≥5% annual growth; high availability with no single point of failure; DRR: RPO ≤4 hours, RTO seconds; web-based; HL7 v2.5 mandatory; desired FHIR/XML APIs; security: ISO 27001/27002/27799, POPIA; tiered confidentiality.
- Interoperability: interfaces with HIS, PAS, ERP, BI; proven integration with heterogeneous systems.
- Deployment options: on-premises, private/public cloud, or hybrid; specify infrastructure and latency needs.
- Other: 10-year minimum solution lifespan; 24/7 support with defined SLAs; data migration from legacy LIS; patient-centric identifiers.
