## Summary

#### Overview
**SAFCOL invites quotations for the supply and delivery of fire break preparation and burning at Uitsoek plantation.** The work requires silviculture personnel to perform firebreak preparation (hoeing, slashing, tracer belts) and burning, in line with the National Veld and Forest Fire Act. Approximately 20 employees are needed daily for 2 months (810 mandays; 650 overtime hours) at Uitsoek Plantation, Mpumalanga. Bidders should have silviculture/forestry expertise, safety and licensing (PCO where applicable), PPE compliance, and related capabilities. (Uitsoek Fire Break Preparation and Burning.pdf)

#### Requirements
- Demonstrable experience in silviculture and commercial forestry; relevant qualifications (Forester) and qualified supervisory personnel.
- PCO licence in appropriate category or equivalent compliance; certified safety, SHEQ and QC/QA capability.
- Compliance with PPE standards, onsite safety and transport provisions; drivers with licenses and PDP where required.
- B-BBEE verification (SANAS-accredited) or EME/QSE sworn affidavit; latest tax clearance; CSD registration; company directors’ ID copies.
- Public liability insurance minimum R5,000,000; bank statements or credit facility evidence minimum R400,000 available.
- Compliance with SAFCOL terms: firm VAT-inclusive pricing, SBD forms completed, and non-discriminatory procurement practices.
- Phase 3 functionality criteria (see below) and Phase 2 mandatory requirements must be met for evaluation to proceed.
