#### Overview
**MHSC invites bids to appoint a service provider for COE 210502 “Assessment and review of winder rope discard criteria, testing procedure and condition assessment protocol,” an 18-month research project (15 months research, 3 months MHSC administration).** Target bidders are specialists in mechanical engineering, winder rope condition assessment/testing in mining, and applied research/consulting with capacity to conduct literature reviews, testing, stakeholder workshops, and training-material updates (SANS 10293/10294 alignment).

#### Requirements
- Service provider with at least 5 years in applied research/consulting; project team with:
- Mechanical engineer with a minimum 10 years in winder rope condition assessment and testing in mining
- Experience in safety management and exposure to winder rope conditions in mining (min 10 years)
- Team members with qualifications: Master’s degree or higher; or equivalent (as per evaluation criteria)
- Mandatory compliance: Central Supplier Database registration; SARS tax compliance status (PIN or CSD number); POPIA, OHSAS considerations
- Ability to engage with rope-testing labs and suppliers; conduct a hybrid stakeholder workshop in Gauteng; deliver reports and final recommendations
