#### Overview
**GRDM invites bids for Wildfire Investigation Services and Basic Wildfire Investigation Training for a three-year period.** The contract covers on-site wildfire origin and cause investigations across the Garden Route District (Hessequa, Kannaland, Mossel Bay, Oudtshoorn, George, Knysna, Bitou) and includes delivery of a basic investigative training program for municipal personnel.

Who should bid: service providers with established wildfire investigation capabilities, proven field experience, and compliant training delivery, including:
- FI-310 Advanced Wildland Fire Investigator qualification (or recognized equivalent)
- Current IAAI membership
- 5–10 years’ wildfire investigation experience and at least 10 completed investigations
- Ability to provide expert witness services and RPAS (drone) capabilities with both visual and thermal imaging

#### Requirements
- Lead investigator: FI-310 or equivalent; IAAI membership; proof of qualifications
- Experience: 5–10 years in wildfire investigation; minimum 10 investigations; ability to act as expert witness
- Knowledge: veld/wildfire behaviour, fire weather, fuel models; evidence collection and chain of custody
- RPAS: access to a drone system with visual and thermal imaging; SACAA compliance; drone deliverables per investigation
- Training: Basic Wildfire Investigation Training (minimum 2 days; certificates; manuals)
- Reporting: on-scene and follow-up investigations; preliminary and final reports; GIS/drone imagery in reports
- Compliance: adherence to SA Fire & Disaster Legislation, NEM Act, Health & Safety, ICS where applicable; five-year evidence retention
- Deliverables: on-site investigations, statements, drone imagery, expert witness services, training certificates
- Subscriptions: current IAAI membership; ability to provide expert services in civil litigation or insurance investigations
