Overview

The uMgungundlovu District Municipality seeks service providers to supply Personal Protective Equipment and Apparel for staff over a 3-year period. Suitable bidders are PPE/APPAREL suppliers with government procurement experience, able to meet SA/EN/SANS standards, and capable of documenting references, financials, and tax/compliance credentials. Bidders must be registered on CSD and provide three government references with min. R2,000,000 each.

Requirements

• Minimum three written government references (past 5 years) each with min. R2M value.
• Bank Letter of Good Standing.
• SARS Tax Compliance Status or PIN; CSD registration if no TCS.
• Evidence for all eligibility criteria; compliance with municipal SCM policies.
• Functionality threshold: minimum 70/100 (Experience 60, Financial Resources 40); bidders must provide supporting documents.
• JV/consortium documentation if applicable.
• Bidding documents must be properly bound and submitted by the deadline.
• PPE items must meet specified standards (e.g., EN/SANS as listed in the contract) and be tested as required.
• Registration on the Central Supplier Database (CSD) is mandatory.

How to Apply

• Obtain tender documents from the municipality website or via tender enquiry email; attend the compulsory briefing on 09 October 2026 (registration 13:30–14:00; briefing 14:00–15:00 at Council Chambers, 242 Langalibalele Street). Non-attendance invalidates submissions.

• Complete and submit the required forms: Form of Offer and Acceptance, MBD 1, MBD 4, MBD 5, MBD 6.1, MBD 8, MBD 9, together with JV agreements if applicable, and a Schedule of Subcontractors if any.

• Ensure compliance documents: Proof of tax status (TCS/PIN), CSD registration, banking good standing, three reference letters, proof of municipal good standing, and any other compulsory documents listed.

• Pricing: complete the Pricing Schedule for the first year (pricing for subsequent years is subject to SLA adjustments).

• Submit sealed bid in the tender box at 242 Langalibalele Street, Pietermaritzburg, before 12:00 on 4 November 2026 (late/submissions by facsimile/E-mail not accepted). Online submission may also be available per tender documents.
