Overview

Appointment of an electrical contractor to supply, deliver and install 1 high mast at Emoyeni 2 for the Greater Kokstad Municipality. Target bidders are electrical contractors with CIDB 2EP or higher, for an open tender (re-advertised). Compulsory briefing 05 October 2026, closing 15 October 2026; bid documents downloadable from the municipality’s portal/website. The contract includes signing a formal contract (MBD7) if successful.

Requirements

• CIDB grading: 2EP or higher.
• Tax and registration: SARS Tax Compliance Status or PIN; CSD registration (or CIDB verification); proof of tax clearance; VAT registration; and compliance with municipal rates for company and directors.
• Returnable documents: fully completed Municipal Bidding Documents (MBD1 Part A/B and Part B), MBD4 (declaration of interest), MBD6.1 (preferential points), MBD8 (past SCM practices), MBD9 (independent determination), CIDB certificate, BBBEE status, WCA, company registration, and related docs.
• Evidence of capability: CIDB 2EP+; proven experience in supply, delivery and installation of high masts/streetlights; suitable key personnel CVs and qualifications.
• Evaluation requires functionality ≥60 points (Company Experience 40, Key Personnel 40, Plant 20) before price/preferences are considered.
• Preference points: 80/20 with Goals for Ownership (BL 50%+ black ownership, black woman ownership) and RDP location goals; verification via CSD and other documents.
