Overview

Procurement of an electrical contractor to supply, deliver and install 11kV mini-substations (1 x 1000kVA, 5 x 500kVA) for multiple Kokstad sites, CIDB 5EP or higher. Open Tender by Greater Kokstad Municipality. Target bidders are electrical contractors with CIDB 5EP+ and relevant substation experience; lead engineer must be ECSA-registered and key personnel must meet the project requirements.

Requirements

• CIDB grading: 5EP or higher.
• Compulsory briefing: 05 Oct 2026 at 11:00 (Adam Kok III Building) and closing 19 Oct 2026 at 12:00.
• Submit on official forms (MBD1, MBD2, MBD3.1/3.2/3.3, etc.) with all returnable documents.
• Tax compliance: SARS TCS PIN required; foreign bidders complete pre-award questionnaire; CIDB/CSD if no TCS; JV partners require separate TCS/CSD.
• Proof of municipal rates and taxes for company and directors; CSD/BBBEE/ CIDB verification; VAT and Workman’s Comp where applicable.
• Proof of CIDB 5EP+; detailed CVs for Lead Engineer (ECSA) and Project Manager (ECSA/Technician) with project experience.
• Returnable documents include MBD 4, 6.1, 8, 9 and contract-related certificates.
• Compliance with national procurement rules and ethical requirements; no bids from in-service state personnel.
