Appointment of a Building Contractor to Construct 201 Subsidised Houses in Thembalethu. George Municipality invites tenders for constructing 201 subsidised houses in Thembalethu. Eligible bidders are building contractors with CIDB grade 7 GB+ and NHBRC registration, supported by an on-site Construction Manager with at least 10 years’ experience on BNG housing projects, and proven delivery of a similar 100+ unit project in the last 7 years with a reference. Tender must align with 2023 subsidy quantum and include SACAP-registered 40m²/45m² house plans per WCDI specs.

Requirements

• CIDB registration with a grading designation of 7 GB or higher
• NHBRC registration (proof to be included)
• Full-time on-site Construction Manager skilled in BNG housing projects (CV with ≥10 years’ experience)
• Evidence of a similar BNG project (≥100 units) completed in the past 7 years with a reference letter
• Tender amount aligned with the 2023 subsidy quantum for 40m²/45m² houses
• Building plans for a 40m² and 45m² house by a SACAP-registered person per Western Cape Department of Infrastructure specs

• Tender submission: in the tender box at George Municipality Main Building, 71 York Street, George (Fifth Floor) by no later than 12:00 on 26 June 2026; tenders opened at 12:05 that day (see GMT041 25 26 Advert GH)
• Tender documents: obtainable from Zutari (Pty) Ltd; arrange at least 2 days in advance (044 805-5400 or george@zutari.com). Documents may be provided at the clarification meeting by prior arrangement. A non-refundable deposit of R550 per document is payable at the SCM Unit
• Required registrations/clearances: TCS PIN for tax compliance; successful bidder must register on the Central Supplier Database (CSD)
