Overview

Appointment of a Contractor for Drilling and Grouting Works for the Tzaneen Dam Project. The RFP covers drilling and grout curtain works and related geotechnical/structural activities for dam foundations, including exploratory drilling, grout testing, and associated site works. Suitable bidders are contractors with civil-construction capabilities and experience in specialised dam works, with CIDB registration for civil construction (and/or specialised construction) and capacity to perform health, safety, and environmental management on-site.

Requirements

• CIDB registration appropriate for civil (and/or specialised) construction works.
• Registration on the Central Supplier Database (CSD).
• Tax compliance (SARS PIN/TCS) or CSD number if TCS is unavailable.
• Completion and submission of Returnables listed in Volume 2 (e.g., certificates of authority, JV disclosures, SBD forms, declarations).
• Health & Safety compliance: adherence to Annexure A H&S specs; prepare Health & Safety Plan, Baseline Risk Assessment, and Method Statements; implement H&S procedures on site.
• Insurance and performance security requirements (contract data; guarantees; All Risk/SASRIA, etc.).
• Submission of required documents and attendance at compulsory briefings.

• Submission deadline: 30 September 2026 at 21:55; submission method: electronic submission via the One Drive portal specified in T1.1.
• Briefing sessions: Compulsory physical briefing on 16 September 2026 at 11:00 (No.1 Voortrekker Road, Tzaneen Dam; use Deer Park Road) and online briefing on 18 September 2026 at 11:00 via Microsoft Teams.
• Documents to submit: all tender returnables (Volume 2) and official Bid Forms (SBDs) per Volume 1; tax and CIDB/CSD proofs; health and safety documents (HSS annexure); method statements and plant/equipment schedule (Volume 2.1.20, 2.1.21).
• Where to obtain bid documents: via the Tender Box folder with the One Drive link in T1.1.
• Pre-qualification: CSD registration, CIDB registration, and SARS tax compliance; ensure separate filings for any JV/subcontractors.
• Briefing details: mandatory attendance; online proof (Teams) or physical register as evidence of attendance.
