Overview

Appointment of a panel of service providers for the manufacture, supply and delivery of new trailers and the conversion of existing trailers for the City of Cape Town. Bidders should be manufacturers, body-builders/manufacturers under NRTA 93 of 1996, or authorised resellers/subsidiaries/franchisees, and be able to operate across two categories: manufacturing new trailers and converting existing CCT trailers. The contract runs 36 months from commencement; a two-category panel will be used with ad-hoc work allocation.

Requirements

• Two work categories: Manufacturing of new trailers; Conversion of existing trailers (ad-hoc appointment on the panel).
• Mandatory MIB registration under the National Road Traffic Act 93 of 1996 (body builder/manufacturer). For franchises/subsidiaries, provide parent MIB certificate and franchise letter; for authorised resellers, provide the manufacturer’s MIB certificate and a reseller agreement.
• Compliance: CCT SCM Policy, detailed in tender; no conflicts of interest; independent bid determination.
• Registrations and pre-qualifications: CCT Supplier Database registration; SARS Tax Compliance Status; separate Tax PINs for consortium members.
• Health and safety: Provide a Health and Safety Plan if requested.
• Documentation: Complete Form of Offer and Acceptance, Price Schedule, and returnable schedules; samples where required.
• Preferences: 80/20 price/BBEE with specific goals (HDI, Enterprise Development, Skills Development/Employee Ownership) as per Addenda.

How to Apply

• Site visit/clarification: 11 September 2026 at 10:00 (Not compulsory but strongly recommended) via Teams; details in the tender docs.
• Submission: Sealed tender in the official Tender Box at Civic Centre, 12 Hertzog Boulevard, Cape Town; box 202; closing 30 September 2026 (10:00) per the tender document (52G/2026/27). If too large, follow the alternate instructions at the counter.
• Documents to submit: Completed Form of Offer and Acceptance, Price Schedule (C.4), Details of Tenderer, Schedule F/returnables, and all supporting returnable documents; signs where required.
• Access: Tender documents issued via the CCT Tender Distribution Office or official portal.
