APPOINTMENT OF A PROFESSIONAL SERVICE PROVIDERS FOR THE BURIAL OR CREMATION OF PAUPER OR DESTITUTE PERSONS

Overview

Mossel Bay Municipality seeks to appoint professional service providers to burial or cremation of pauper or destitute persons for a 3-year period (1 July 2027 to 30 June 2030). Bids are open to funeral directors, mortuary/crematorium operators and other capable service providers to deliver dignified burial or cremation for indigent residents.

Requirements

• Mandatory information meeting attendance: 11:00, 22 October 2026, Mossel Bay Town Hall; at least one partner of a Joint Venture must attend.
• Tax matters: Tax Compliance Status Pin from SARS for each bidder or JV member; can be requested after closing.
• Central Supplier Database (CSD) registration required.
• CIDB registration number if applicable.
• B-BBEE status: provide sworn affidavit or certificate as per B-BBEE Codes.
• Proof of locality for locality points (municipal account or lease/affidavit evidence).
• Letter of Good Standing from the Compensation Commissioner for each bidder/JV member.
• Authorized signatory: board/resolution authorizing signing; original bid document signed in black ink.
• Completion of required bid forms: MBD1, MBD4, MBD5, MBD6.1, MBD8, MBD9, plus Pricing Schedule (see documents).
• Municipal rates/taxes: evidence for bidder and directors where applicable; leases if renting.
• Subcontracting conditions: consent required for subcontracting parts of the contract.

• Submission: sealed envelope, clearly marked with tender number, title and closing date/time, placed in Mossel Bay Town Hall tender box or posted to reach the box (no emails/faxes; late tenders not accepted).
• Documents to submit: complete original bid document; MBD forms (MBD1, MBD4, MBD5, MBD6.1, MBD8, MBD9); Pricing Schedule; CIDB (if applicable); Tax Pin; CSD registration; Proof of locality; Letter of Good Standing; signed authorization.
• Registrations/pre-qualifications: Central Supplier Database; SARS Tax Compliance; CIDB (if applicable).
• Briefing session: compulsory information meeting (22 Oct 2026, 11:00; attendance by all JV partners).
