Overview

RFP 202092: appointment of a qualified contractor to support SABS’s Engineering & Plant Maintenance Department in maintaining instrumentation and automation technologies equipment used in laboratories for 3 years across Groenkloof and regions (Secunda, Richards Bay, Olifantsfontein NETFA, Cape Town, Port Elizabeth). This targets specialists in multi-site lab instrumentation maintenance, with ISO 17025 relevance, and certified technicians, to operate across multiple South African locations.

Requirements

• CIDB grade 4 EB; valid COIDA/FEM & RMA certificates.
• Proven experience in maintaining mechanical laboratory equipment and ISO 17025-accredited client work; provide verifiable references.
• Certified technicians/technicians with relevant qualifications: minimum N6 (artisan) and minimum 5 years experience; an account manager with minimum NQF 7 qualification and 5 years’ experience.
• Ability to provide maintenance across multiple sites, 24/7 emergency after-hours support, and safety/environmental compliance; proof of liability insurance and Safety File/OHS compliance.
• Demonstrated service capability to handle multi-site demand (quarterly/monthly/annual maintenance; 200+ equipment) with SOP-based processes; primarily OEM/approved spare parts.
• Central Supplier Database (CSD) registration and adherence to pricing/PP regulations (80/20 preferences).
