APPOINTMENT OF A SERVICE PROVIDER FOR ARMED RESPONSE, MONITORING AND DATA

Overview

The South African Bureau of Standards (SABS) invites bids for armed response, 24/7 alarm monitoring, data communication and maintenance services across SABS sites for a 24‑month period. Suitable security providers with PSIRA registration, armed-response capability, experience in monitoring and visual-verification systems, and adequate fleet and firearm licenses should consider bidding. Requirements

• Valid Company & Director PSIRA certificates; Valid PSIRA letter of good standing; Valid Armed Response PSIRA certificate
• Public liability insurance (min R3,000,000); COIDA letter of good standing
• Compulsory briefing attendance
• National CSD registration report; BBBEE certificate or sworn affidavit; SBD 4; SBD 6.1
• Minimum three contactable reference letters (monitoring of virtual verifier intruder detection systems)
• Minimum seven armed response vehicle licences across specified SABS regions; seven 9mm firearms licences
• Emergency response plan with site‑reach timelines; maintenance plan for virtual verifier intruder-detection system
• CVs for technicians with 5+ years’ VV intrusion-system experience; proof of national footprint (offices in all SABS regions)
• Valid COIDA and public liability/PSIRA compliance throughout the contract period
