Overview

Procurement of a service provider for manual preparation of thinnings for a forwarder in SAFCOL’s Jessievale plantation area, for 3,000 m³ per geographical area. Eligible bidders are forestry/harvesting contractors with manual thinning experience, qualified chainsaw operators (SAQA), on-site supervision, and capability to meet SAFCOL’s safety and quality standards (BOPs, SHEQ, FSC). Requirements

• Complete RFQ on company letterhead; email responses to the specified address.
• B-BBEE: SANAS-accredited certificate or EME/QSE sworn affidavit; include CSD/SANAS proofs.
• Tax: latest SARS tax clearance; proof of tax compliance.
• Experience: minimum 2 years manual/hand-roll thinning; attach reference letters with company name, contact, period.
• Returnables: fully completed RFQ, official quotation on letterhead, CSD/MAAA number, IDs of directors, BBBEE proof.
• Health & safety: comply with SAFCOL SHEQ standards; on-site supervisor; at least 1x level-2 First Aider; on-site SHE Rep; Safety Officer/Consultant.
• Labour: local sourcing where practical; valid IDs/work permits; WCF good standing and UIF; minimum wage; valid contracts; medical screenings; training certificates available.
• Equipment & operations: Annexure 3 equipment; minimum team: 7 chainsaw operators, 10 manual stackers, 8 log scalers/pushers; gear in good order; SAQA-registered chainsaw training; annual refresher.
• Vehicles & safety: valid licenses, PrDP for passenger drivers, roadworthy vehicles, enclosed labor carriers, appropriate seat belts, PPE.
• Legal: comply with Occupational Health and Safety Act, Basic Conditions of Employment Act; Public Liability cover with forestry extension.
• Price: quoted per m³ (VAT inclusive). Volume and areas subject to change.
