APPOINTMENT OF A SERVICE PROVIDER FOR THE COMPLETION OF THE DRY ROOM AND MINOR REPAIR WORK TO THE SEEDBANK FACILITY AT THE KIRSTENBOSCH NATIONAL BOTANICAL GARDEN, CAPE TOWN

Overview

The tender seeks to appoint a service provider to complete the dry room and undertake minor repair work to the Seedbank facility at Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden, Cape Town, including HVAC/refrigeration works. Suitable bidders are construction/MEP contractors with CIDB 3ME or higher (or an agreed equivalent for JV), and with registered professionals in health and safety, project management, refrigeration, and related disciplines.

Requirements

• CIDB: contractor grading 3ME or higher (or JV with lead partner 2ME and combined 3ME+ per regulations).
• National Treasury Central Supplier Database: registered (or provide application) and proof; if not registered, submit application and proof within 21 days after closing.
• COIDA: good standing.
• Returnable documents: fully completed SBD forms; compulsory site briefing certificate; Appendix E completed.
• Personnel: professional CHSO (SACPCMP) with CV; Contracts/Project Manager (SACPCMP or ECSA) with CV; Site Foreman/Refrigeration Mechanic with trade certificate, SARACCA/SAQCC Gas registration, Category B registration, refrigerant handling credentials, and Certificates of Conformity.
• Equipment: fully completed Appendix E – Equipment Offered with supplier datasheets.
• Additional: compliance with COIDA, contractor health and safety requirements, and all relevant regulations; not on Tender Defaulters list; CSD/CIDB verifications; site visits may be conducted.
