Overview

Appointment of a service provider to design, supply, construct, test and commission the bulk water supply at Blyde River Canyon Nature Reserve – Bourke’s Luck Potholes. The bid covers civil works (pipelines, intake, pump station, tanks, reticulation) and electrical installations, with testing, commissioning and handover. Eligible bidders should have a CIDB grade of 5ME/CE (4ME/CE PE) or higher and demonstrated experience in bulk water projects, electrical installations, and related engineering works. The contract includes a six-month construction period (practical completion) with a 365-day defects liability period.

Requirements

• CIDB grading: 5ME/CE (4ME/CE PE) or higher.
• Required registrations/certifications: CIDB registration; Installation Electrician certificate; Electrical contractor’s license; Workman’s Compensation registration (WC certificate).
• Compliance: Tax compliance status (SARS PIN or CSD registration); no bids from persons in state service; separate TCS/CSD where applicable for joint ventures or sub-contractors.
• Documentation: Tender submission on official forms; ensure all required certificates are certified copies with the bid.
• Contract framework: General Conditions of Contract (Third Edition, 2015) with project-specific data; adherence to OH&S and environmental requirements.
