GMT062/25-26 : Appointment of a service provider for the operation and maintenance of PV Solar Systems and Battery energy storage systems for a period of twelve (12) months from the date of appointment

Overview

GMT062/25-26 seeks a service provider to operate and maintain PV solar systems and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) for twelve months from appointment. Target bidders are electrical/renewable-energy service providers with CIDB 2EB/2EP or higher, must be registered as Electrical Contractors with the Department of Labour, and must have on the team at least one ECSA-registered engineer/technologist or PV Green Card holder, plus at least two qualifying PV+BESS reference projects. A compulsory clarification meeting is required on 14 October 2026; non-attendance disqualifies.

Requirements

• CIDB contractor grading: 2EB/2EP or higher (maintained for the contract duration).
• Electrical Contractor registration with the Department of Labour (valid for the contract).
• On the team: at least one of – an ECSA-registered Electrical Engineer/Technologist; or a Registered Installation Electrician with a PV Green Card (or equivalent).
• If not permanently employed, provide a Letter of Intent from the professional and registration details; subcontracting within George with compliant subcontractors is allowed with a commitment letter.
• Minimum two PV+BESS reference projects (proof via Referee Forms and completion certificates).
• Stage 2: 80 points for price, 20 for B-BBEE/specific goals; comply with PPPAct, Procurement Policy, and CSD/TAX requirements.
• TCS PIN for tax compliance; register on CSD if successful.
• Mandatory briefing attendance; non-attendance disqualifies; site meeting specifics apply.
