Overview

The SABC seeks a service provider to replace 10x server hardware and provide maintenance and support for 5 years. Seven servers will be at the SABC Head Office and three at Parklands datacentre, all aligned to HPE Gen12 specifications and VMware vSphere 8 compatibility, with shipping to Auckland Park. Bidders may be local or international and must meet mandatory regulatory and BBBEE requirements.

Requirements

• SARS PIN for tax matters; valid BBBEE certificate (SANAS) or sworn affidavit for EMEs/QSEs; annual affidavit if EME/QSE thresholds apply.
• Proof of TV license status; company registration, directors’ IDs, and shareholders’ certificates.
• Last 3 years’ audited financials or management accounts; proof of CSD registration.
• Commitment to local content where applicable; B-BBEE certificates or affidavits as required.
• Compliance with technical specs (7+3 servers) and full Schedule of Quantities; prices in ZAR with VAT separated; fixed first-year price with CPI adjustments where applicable.
• Insurance covering bidder liability; delivery to Auckland Park stores; strict delivery/testing acceptance before final acceptance.
• End-to-end compliance with SABC policies, anti-corruption, and post-bid negotiations rights.

Key portions specify: 7x + 3x HPE Gen12 servers with VMware vSphere 8 compatibility; detailed server specs (Xeon 6530P 32 cores, 1TB DDR5 RAM, NVMe, fibre/ethernet adapters, redundant PS, ILO, 5-year CTR support, etc.) and 2x PCIe ISCSI/Mellanox adapters; 24/7 support; local content data; and shipping responsibilities (Document E).
