APPOINTMENT OF A SERVICE PROVIDER STRUCTURAL ENGINEER TO ASSESS, DESIGN AND RECOMMEND REMEDIAL WORK TO BE CARRIED OUT AT THE BLOEMFONTEIN OC BUILDING ROOF

Overview

Appointment of a service provider structural engineer to assess, design and recommend remedial work to be carried out at the Bloemfontein OC Building Roof. Bidders should be structural engineering firms with ECSA registration, timber-roof experience, and ability to produce assessment reports, a detailed remedial design, a Bill of Quantities and a construction programme, with appropriate health and safety, COIDA/FEM compliance and BBBEE considerations.

Requirements

• ECSA-registered Structural Engineer with a valid certificate.
• Valid COIDA/FEM certificate or Department of Employment and Labour letter.
• Valid Workmen’s Compensation (COIDA/FEM) standing.
• Completed timber-roof project experience (minimum five projects) with signed client references (Table 1).
• Detailed CV of a Registered Professional Engineer with at least 5 years post-qualification experience.
• Health and safety compliance documents: safety file, risk assessments, inductions, safety plan, and public liability insurance.
• Availability to commence on issue of Purchase Order and provide a cost plan/BOQ; contractor oversight during construction.
• Registrations for procurement preferences: BBBEE certificate; Sentech supplier database membership; tax compliance.
