Overview

Appointment of a service provider to conduct Crowned Eagle monitoring on SAFCOL plantations for 2026/27, including nest surveys, breeding success assessments, data reporting, and related ecological monitoring. The scope covers field visits to known nests starting Sep 2026, monitoring breeding success and other raptor sightings, identifying new nests, and delivering a final report by 15 March 2027 with payment on completion. Bidders should have environmental/ecology/zoology expertise, with SACNASP-registered project leaders and SA public-sector compliance credentials (CSD, BBBEE, tax clearance).

Requirements

• SACNASP registration for the project leader/manager; provide CV and proof of current registration; demonstrates relevant field qualifications (ecology/conservation/zoology). Include at least 1 reference letter.
• Proof of up-to-date BBBEE status (certificate or sworn affidavit) and valid Tax Clearance; CSD registration numbers and current tax status on the CSD.
• Past experience in monitoring raptors (past five years) with evidence; provide references on letterhead.
• Completion of the RFQ document on company letterhead; signed SBD forms; provision of all mandatory SBD documentation.
• Service provider may bid as a JV; if so, consolidated BEE documentation is required.

• Documents to submit: completed RFQ on letterhead; SBD forms; BBBEE certificate or sworn affidavit; valid Tax Clearance; CSD proof (supplier number and reference); SACNASP registration details; project manager CV; at least one reference letter.
• Pre-qualifications: SACNASP registration; CSD registration and up-to-date tax status; proof of BBBEE; proof of relevant field experience; QP documents as required.
