APPOINTMENT OF A SERVICE PROVIDER TO PROVIDE STATUTORY MAINTENCE OF PRESSURE VESSELS AND BOILERS FOR A PERIOD OF 36 MONTHS

Overview

Procurement of a service provider to perform statutory maintenance of pressure vessels and boilers for 36 months at SABS sites. The bidder should be an experienced engineering/professional services provider with certifications in pressure equipment inspection (AIA Certification from the Department of Labour) and knowledge of the South African Pressure Equipment Regulations (PER) and SANS 347, plus a technical qualification in pressure equipment inspection. CIDB grading of 4 ME is required, and bidders must meet related pre-qualification and registration (CSD, tax clearance, BBBEE as applicable). The contract includes inspection, testing, reporting, and enforcement support, and may include spares supply.

Requirements

• CIDB Grade 4 ME and liability insurance (COIDA)
• Valid AIA Certification from Department of Labour
• Technical qualification or certified course in Pressure Equipment Inspection (PER/SANS 347)

• 5 years understanding of PER/SANS 347 with hands-on inspection experience

• 3 reference letters for servicing/maintenance of pressure equipment, with letters older than 10 years
• CSD registration, VAT, tax clearance; BBBEE certificate or sworn affidavit
• Demonstrated SOP/service capability (QA, safety, project program) and ability to supply spares
• Returnable documents include Appendices A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, I, J, K, L, N; and O–P as applicable (see RFP)

• Contracting: Award contingent on a signed contract; no services before agreement; IP rights vest in SABS; confidentiality obligations extend beyond tender.
