Overview

Appointment of a service provider to translate the Ingonyama Trust Board Annual Report from English into isiZulu. This RFQ seeks English-to-isiZulu translation of the ~178-page Annual Report, with quality assurance, glossary, and an editable Word output, for delivery to the Ingonyama Trust Board. Bidders should be professional translation agencies with proven government/public-sector experience, strong isiZulu resources, and the ability to handle confidential material within KwaZulu-Natal contexts.

Requirements

• Proven experience translating government/public-sector documents (annual reports, governance, financial, legal terminology); access to qualified isiZulu translators/editors/proofreaders; strong confidentiality.
• Minimum team: lead English-to-isiZulu translator, isiZulu editor/proofreader, quality assurance reviewer, and desktop publishing/formatting support.
• Quality standards: minimum three-stage QA (translation, editing/terminology review, final proofreading/formatting).
• Deliverables: fully translated isiZulu 178-page report, edited/proofread document, terminology glossary, editable Word file, and a QA declaration.
• Turnaround: about 25 to 30 working days from appointment; first draft 15–20 days, ITB review 5 days, final version 5 days.
• Compliance: tax compliance (SARS PIN or CSD number), B-BBEE compliance, and submission on official forms; confidentiality covenant.
• Preference framework: 80/20 system with specific goals (e.g., Office within KwaZulu-Natal) contributing to points.
