Overview

The MHSC invites bids to appoint a service provider to undertake RESEARCH PROJECT COE 240602 “Optimisation of Dust Control Systems for Roof Bolters and Continuous Miners in Underground Coal Mines.” This open-tender requires expertise in applied mining research, dust control engineering, and occupational hygiene, with an estimated 18-month contract and a 120-day bid validity. Requirements

• Minimum 5 years in applied research in the SAMI; team must include:
  • Mechanical or electrical engineer with 5+ years in dust control for CM and roof bolters; 10+ years in mine environmental control or occupational hygiene.
  • Qualifications: Master’s or Honours in relevant field.
• Must be registered on the Central Supplier Database (CSD) and provide Tax Compliance status (PIN or CSD number); SARS PIN can be used.
• Submit on official forms: SBD1, SBD4, SBD6.1, and fully completed SBD3 pricing; include CVs, references, and project proposal.
• Stage 1 requires at least 70% in technical/functional evaluation; Stage 2 uses price (80) and specific goals (20) under PPPFA 2022.
• Payment terms: within 30 days of invoice post-delivery; contract subject to GCC/SCC and MHSC conditions.
