Overview

Appointment of a service provider/agent to make provision for the complete quarantine arrangements associated with the importation of the mandrill from Australia to South Africa. The supplier will manage quarantine facility, veterinary services, state veterinary inspections, transport from airport, and all related costs. Suitable for service providers with experience in non-human primate quarantine, veterinary care, import permits (VIP/VHC), and related logistics. RFQ issued by Johannesburg City Parks and Zoo; closing 14 October 2026 (valid for 30 days).

Requirements

Mandatory and administrative requirements include:

• Complete the BOQ/Specification; provide Veterinary Import Permit (VIP) and Veterinary Health Certificate (VHC).
• Administrative: proof of company address/director's address; COIDA good standing; CK/shareholder documents; ID copies; JV agreement if applicable; proof of CSD registration; compliance with correction rules; completion of tender documents.
• Registration and compliance: CSD vendor number; SARS Tax Compliance Status (TCS) or PIN; VAT compliance; BBEE documentation if claiming preferences.
• Evaluation framework: 80/20 price-preference with specific goals (see “Specific goals” below); submission of MBD forms (MBD 1, MBD 3.1, MBD 4, MBD 6.1) and pricing schedule.
• CIDB grading: N/A.

Specific goals (as part of preference points):

• Price: 80 points
• SPECIFIC GOALS 1: 51%+ women-owned: 10 points
• SPECIFIC GOALS 2: Locality within COJ: 10 points
