Overview

Appointment of Service Provider for Provision of Traffic News Reporting for SABC News for a Period of Three Years. This RFQ seeks a national traffic-news provider to deliver live/recorded reports across SABC News’ radio, television and digital platforms, with XML/RSS feeds and multilingual capabilities. Suitable bidders are media/content providers with on-air experience, access to traffic sources (e.g., SANRAL, SAPS, emergency services), a cleanfeed/recording facility, and social media publishing capability. Duration: 3 years.

Requirements

• National footprint with regular up-to-the-minute traffic updates across Radio, TV and Online.
• Live/on-air voice reports (Radio) and live audio-visual crossings with graphics for TV.
• Access to reliable traffic sources; multilingual content capability.
• Clean-feed recording facility on own site; content can be posted to SABC’s social channels.
• Provide feed (XML/RSS) for sabcnews.com, mobile app and social platforms.
• Ability to transform content for broadcast/publishing; website/video/web presence.
• Fee/price must include detailed cost breakdown; contract duration 3 years.
• Compliance documents: proof of CSD registration, valid TV license statements for company and directors, valid tax clearance, BBBEE certificate, company registration, shareholders’ certificates, and IDs.
• Subcontracting: up to 30% to a sub-contractor with equal/higher B-BBEE status; subcontracting to EMEs as allowed.

• Pre-qualifications/compliance: CSD registration; valid TV license statement for company and directors; tax clearance; BBBEE certificate; company registration and IDs.
• Additional: RFQ validity period is 90 days; payment terms are 60 days after invoicing.
