APPOINTMENT OF SERVICE PROVIDER TO RENDER GENERAL BUILDING MAINTENANCE FOR A PERIOD OF 36 MONTHS: AREA 2

Overview

Appointment of a service provider to render general building maintenance for 36 months in Area 2. This tender is for general building maintenance and facilities management services in Area 2 (Eastern Cape) for DPW & Infrastructure. Likely bidders are building maintenance contractors with CIDB 3GB or higher (or equivalent emerging status), able to supply bricklayers, plumbers, carpenters and painters, and capable of operating in the Eastern Cape. Requirements

• CIDB grading: 3GB or 3GB* or higher (emerging options available for PE, per tender text).
• Key personnel: 1 Bricklayer (trade tested), 3 Plumbers (trade tested), 3 Carpenters (trade tested), 1 Painter (trade tested); submit trade certificates.
• Experience: at least 2 reference letters for comparable projects with value > R130,000 each; references must be contactable.
• Administrative: proof of registration on National Treasury’s Central Supplier Database (CSD); completion and signing of required forms (e.g., PA-11, DPW-07, DPW-09, DPW-21, PA-40); compliance with CIDB requirements; valid COIDA/works; declaration of designated groups for preferential procurement.
• Other: compulsory bid briefing/clarification meeting; complete pricing of BOQ; indicate markup on provisional amounts; use departmental templates; risk/commercial assessment as part of evaluation (DPW-09 EC).
• Specific goals: contract participation goals to be applied (e.g., locality in the Eastern Cape).
