APPOINTMENT OF SHORT-TERM INSURANCE BROKER

Overview

Appointment of a short-term insurance broker to manage Mossel Bay Municipality's short-term insurance portfolio for a 3-year term (1 July 2027–30 June 2030). Eligible bidders are experienced insurance brokers with FAIS accreditation and FIA membership, and capable of ISO 9001:2015 (SABS) certification, IRMSA certification, and providing required professional indemnity and crime insurance coverage. The scope includes negotiating, placing, administering and advising on the municipality’s short-term portfolio.

Requirements

• FAIS compliance and FIA membership; FAIS certificate
• ISO 9001:2015 (SABS) Quality Management Systems for financial services in short-term insurance
• IRMSA certification
• Professional Indemnity insurance min R100,000,000 (per broker or per JV member)
• Commercial Crime Insurance min R50,000,000 (per broker or per JV member)
• Tax clearance PIN and SARS compliance; separate PINs for JV members if applicable
• CIDB registration (if applicable) and verification at evaluation
• Central Supplier Database registration
• Audited financial statements for the broker (and for JV members, if any)
• Letter of Good Standing from the Compensation Commissioner
• Authorized signatory: board/resolution authorising bid; applicable JV documentation
• JV provisions: JV agreement, B-BBEE status in JV name, lead partner address, SARS PINs for all members
• Provisions on insurability, solvency margins, and other documentary proofs listed in the tender pack (see attached docs)
