Overview

APPOINTMENT OF THE SERVICE PROVIDER TO RENDER SECURITY GUARDING SERVICES FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF WATER AND SANITATION NORTHERN CAPE UPINGTON FOR THE PERIOD OF FIVE MONTHS. The Department seeks a PSIRA-registered private security provider to supply guards at the Northern Cape Upington site, with capacity to meet the required guards for the period, a 24-hour control room, vetting and compliance with PSIRA/SAPS/SSA, insurance and related requirements, and the ability to scale staffing in crises.

Requirements

• Company and all security personnel must be PSIRA-registered; guards must be trained to PSIRA standards; supervisors with Grade 12 and PSIRA Grade B qualifications.
• Company must be officially registered with CIPC and provide proof of employer registration with the Compensation Commissioner.
• All security officers must be PSIRA-registered and trained at PSIRA-accredited centers.
• Adhere to National Minimum Wage Act; wage compliance is enforced by the Department.
• Capability to supply a certain/additional number of guards as requested; contingency staffing for crisis periods.
• Maintain a well-established 24-hour security control room and a supervisor available 24/7.
• Vetting of Directors, security personnel, and possibly contractors; negative vetting can lead to withdrawal.
• Insurance: contractor to carry public liability/professional indemnity insurance; provide policy details and renewals.
• Compliance with internal security policies; equipment, uniforms, identification, reporting, and incident registers; prohibition on unauthorized access to IT networks; polygraph/testing may be requested; compliance with site and safety requirements.
