BID REQUEST FOR THE DESIGN AND BUILD OF A REFRIGERANT LEAK DETECTION AND GAS EXTRACTION SYSTEM FOR THE CHILLER PLANT AT O.R TAMBO INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT FOR A PERIOD OF 24 MONTHS

Overview

Design and build of a refrigerant leak detection and gas extraction system for the chiller plants at OR Tambo International Airport over 24 months. The project uses NEC3 ECC3 with amendments; completion is around 78 weeks, with a 5% performance bond and 5% retention. Bidders should have CIDB 7ME or higher and demonstrated refrigeration/gas-detection experience, plus compliance with tax, CIDB tender data and contract documentation.

Requirements

• CIDB contractor grading of 7ME or higher (mandatory).
• Demonstrable experience in refrigerant leak detection, fixed gas detection, mechanical gas extraction, chiller-plant controls, or hazardous-gas monitoring, with verifiable client references.
• Key personnel with SAQA/ECSA/SACPCMP registrations (Project/Construction Manager, Mechanical, Control & Instrumentation, Electrical, Civil/Structural, Refrigeration Specialist; Construction Health and Safety Agent) and relevant qualifications/certifications.
• Refrigeration Specialist: SAQA qualification plus active SAQCC Gas registration (Category B6) and project evidence.
• Compliance with tax and regulatory requirements; SARS Tax Compliance Status PIN or CSD number for bidders (and separate PINs for consortia/sub-contractors).
• Insurance, bonds, and health & safety prerequisites as per contract data; adherence to the works information and quality plan requirements.
• No alternative bids; sign and submit all returnable documents as required.
