Overview

Procurement of clearance, collection, transport and safe disposal/incineration of illegally dumped medical, hazardous and toxic waste. The City of Cape Town invites bids from waste management and hazardous waste transport/disposal providers for a 36-month contract; suitable for providers with valid accreditation, driver qualifications (PRDP and Trem Card), and compliance with municipal waste bylaws and SCM policies.

Requirements

• Accredited waste management service provider with full accreditation for transportation, handling and disposal of hazardous waste (valid for the contract duration).
• Registration on the City of Cape Town Supplier Database and on the National Treasury CSD; provide proof of tax compliance.
• Drivers must hold a Professional Driving Permit, Trem Card and certification for dangerous goods transportation.
• Submit mandatory returnable documents and complete SCM compliance items (including declarations and independent tender determination proofs).
• Minimum functionality score of 60/100: experience in medical/hazardous waste and appropriate vehicle age/condition (references and vehicle documentation required).
• Evidence of current accreditation under the City’s Integrated Waste Management bylaws; renewals encouraged if nearing expiry.
• Tender fee: R200 for hard copy; not payable for website downloads.
• Evaluation includes 80/20 price/preference, with Specific Goals (SME development, enterprise development, skills, employee ownership) up to 20 points.
