CONSTRUCTION OF GALI RIVER CROSSING

Overview

Construction of the Gali River Crossing bridge for the Eastern Cape Department of Transport. Bidders must hold a CIDB Grade 7CE, demonstrate two similar bridge projects of at least R15 million each in the last 10 years within the SADC region, and have qualified key personnel (Construction Manager and Construction Health and Safety Officer) registered with the appropriate bodies. Submissions are via the e-Tenders Portal, with a mandatory site briefing and an extended closing date per addenda.

Requirements

• CIDB registration: CE class, Grade 7 or higher; evidence via CIDB listing.
• Experience: at least two similar bridge projects (≥ R15,000,000 each) in the last 10 years, located in the SADC region, with completion certificates and client references.
• Key personnel: Construction Manager (10+ years bridge exp, registered with ECSA SACPCMP) and Construction Health and Safety Officer (5+ years, SACPCMP CHSO, SAMTRAC, safety-audit training).
• Compliance & registrations: CIDB, CSD; not listed on National Treasury defaulters/restricted lists; Tax compliance status (PIN or SARS); Central Supplier Database; JV requirements if applicable; safety and construction regulations fulfillment.
• Local content and targeted procurement: 100% local content for designated steel items; 30% EC spend on targeted SMMEs, 10% on targeted labour and 10% on local suppliers; penalties for non-compliance.
