Overview

Construction of inspection manholes on existing sewer house connections at Smitville (Barrydale). Swellendam Local Municipality invites bids from contractors with CIDB grading 1CE or higher to undertake the construction works. A compulsory site inspection is scheduled for 14 September 2026 at 10:00 in Barrydale (Forthaven Hall). Official documents are obtainable from Mr. K. Evaluations follow the 80/20 preferential system; the Council may accept the full or part of a bid and is not obliged to accept the lowest.

Requirements

• CIDB grading of 1CE or higher.
• Attendance at the compulsory site clarification meeting.
• Bids submitted on prescribed documents, in a sealed envelope, clearly marked with quotation number and description.
• Submissions placed in the Municipal Quotation Box before 11:00 on 18 September 2026.
• Must include a valid Tax Compliance Status PIN (SARS).
• Late or emailed/faxed bids will not be considered.
• All inquiries must be in writing; no inquiries in the last two days before closing.
• Bids subject to 84-day validity from closing date.
