Construction of Itiku Bridge along the Emali Matiliku (A5) RoadClosed

Overview

Construction of Itiku Bridge and its approach works along the Emali–Matiliku (A5) Road in Kenya. Eligible bidders are construction companies registered with the National Construction Authority (NCA) in Category NCA 1 or 2 for Road and Bridge Works; partnerships/JV may bid but must meet joint-venture rules. Required qualifications include incorporation or foreign-compliance documents, a valid NCA Practising Licence, Tax Compliance Certificate, a recent CR12, page serialization of the bid, and a bid security via unconditional bank guarantee. Mandatory pre-tender site visits apply, and a single Technical Person (minimum BSc/BTech in Civil/Highway Engineering) must represent the bidder.

Requirements

• Mandatory qualifications with bid:
  • Copy of Certificate of Incorporation or foreign compliance
  • Copy of valid NCA Annual Practising Licence (in relevant class)
  • Copy of valid Tax Compliance Certificate
  • Copy of CR12 (dated within 6 months)
  • Serialise all tender pages
  • Tender Security via Unconditional Bank Guarantee
• Eligibility and compliance:
  • Max two tenders per bidder; only one award per bidder
  • Compliance with PPADA 2015 and fair‑competition rules (no canvassing)
  • NCA registration in indicated category; pre‑qualification may be required
  • Foreign bidders must source at least 40% of inputs locally
• Site and personnel:
  • Mandatory pre‑tender site visit
  • One Technical Person (BSc/BTech Civil/Highway) to represent, with original documents (ID, degree, EBK/IEK registration) and an introductory letter

• Submission method: plain sealed envelope or Tender Box at KeNHA, Barabara Plaza, JKIA, Nairobi; no electronic bidding
• Documents to submit: completed tender documents plus forms (e.g., Tender Information, Qualification, Financials) and bid security; documents must be obtained from the KeNHA site or PPIP
