Overview

RFQ AC 271: Overhaul, refurbishment, transportation, installation, testing and commissioning of two axial flow pumps. Quotations are invited from service providers with pump overhaul/refurbishment, machining, coating, installation and commissioning capabilities, registered on the Central Supplier Database (CSD) and the eThekwini Supplier Portal, with CIDB grading 1ME+ and valid tax/compliance status. Bidders should have mechanical engineering experience in axial-flow pump works and be able to perform site verification, disassembly, refurbishment, testing and handover, in line with the entity’s requirements.

Requirements

• Registered on CSD and eThekwini Supplier Portal; tax clearance or SARS PIN/TCS; VAT/CSD compliance.
• Complete MBD forms (MBD1, MBD4, MBD6.1, MBD8, MBD9); proof of good standing; at least 2 signed references; CIDB grading 1ME or higher.
• Minimum public liability insurance of R500,000 prior to award.
• Compulsory site briefing: 25 September 2026, 09:00 at uShaka Marine World (mandatory).
• Bid documents on official forms; sealed submission; submission box at Guest Information Centre; closing 01 October 2026 (11:00) in the attached documents; late bids not accepted.
• Tax/compliance screening as per Parts B and MBDs; foreign/consortium rules apply; CIDB and SARS requirements must be met.
• Health, safety and environmental compliance; provide PPE and required equipment; warranty and handover package.

How to Apply

• Submission deadline: 12 October 2026 at 09:00 (RFQ AC 271).
• Submission method: sealed bid in the tender box at the Guest Information Centre (option to submit on official forms or online where indicated); ensure envelopes are sealed and numbered as specified.
• Documents to submit: completed RFQ forms, MBD1/4/6.1/8/9, tax/compliance documents (PIN/TCS or CSD proof), references, proof of good standing, CIDB grading, and relevant PPE/workmethod statements. (Refer to Main Tender Document: ac-271.pdf for full list and format.)
• Pre-qualification: CSD and eThekwini Portal registration; tax clearance; CIDB 1ME+; Sars PIN/TCS; in consortium cases, separate TCS/CSD for each party.
