DESIGN, SUPPLY, INSTALLATION, AND COMMISSIONING FOR THE REPLACEMENT OF THE FIRE WATER PUMP STATIONS AND THE BOOSTER PUMP STATION AT ORTIA FOR A PERIOD OF 24 MONTHS

Overview

The Airports Company South Africa invites bids for a 24-month contract to design, supply, install and commission the replacement of the fire water pump stations and the booster pump station at ORTIA. This is a competitive RFP for a ME-class construction project aimed at upgrading critical fire protection water pumping infrastructure at O.R. Tambo International Airport. Bidders should have CIDB 7ME or higher (or participate via an eligible JV) and demonstrable capability in design, supply, installation and commissioning of fire-water pump systems, high-pressure water systems and related facilities. The contract uses NEC3 ECC-based terms and requires a multidisciplinary team with specified professional registrations and safety qualifications.

Requirements

• CIDB contractor grading designation of 7ME or higher (or JV with lead partner meeting the requirement and combined grading meeting the threshold).
• Demonstrated experience in installation/maintenance of water pump stations, high-pressure systems, hazardous facilities or foam-system integration.
• Key resources (CVs and registrations): Resident Engineer; Electronic Engineer; Electrical Engineer; Mechanical Engineer; Civil Engineer; Fire Systems Practitioner; Occupational Health and Safety Agent, with corresponding professional registrations (ECSA SACPCMP as applicable) and qualifications.
• Compliance with the NEC3 ECC-derived contract data and related risk, quality, and insurance provisions (e.g., project risk register; quality plan; performance bond; retention; liability limits).
• Returnable documentation including Form of Offer, pricing data, organogram, references, CIDB proof, and tax compliance (TCS or CSD PIN).
