Overview

KwaZulu-Natal Museum invites quotes for DNA extraction, PCR and sequencing services, including COI, 16S and 28S sequencing with three primer sets, plus collection of 20 specimens. Bidders should have molecular biology lab capabilities for DNA extraction, PCR amplification and sequencing, and be prepared to provide specimen handling. The RFQ uses an 80/20 preference system (points for Black Ownership, Women, Youth, Disability, and Locality). Close: 21 Oct 2026.

Requirements

• Demonstrated ability to perform DNA extraction, PCR amplification and sequencing (COI, 16S, 28S) and to handle/collect 20 specimens.
• Compliance and pre-qualifications: Central Suppliers Database (CSD) registration, Tax PIN, BBBEE certificate; VAT registration where applicable.
• Preference points: Black Ownership (6), Women Owned (2), Youth Owned (2), Disability Owned (2), Locality (8).
