Overview

Procurement of the Drakensberg Control Block Ventilation Refurbishment Project, a construction contract to refurbish the ventilation system at the Drakensberg Pumped Storage Scheme. Open to construction bidders with CIDB 3ME+ (or a JV meeting the combined 3ME requirement) and familiarity with NEC3 ECC3, submitting via Eskom’s E-tendering system.

Requirements

• CIDB: main contractor grading of 3ME+; or JV where lead partner is 2ME+ and combined grading equals 3ME+ (JV rules apply) (CIDB requirements, 2.28).
• CSD registration and CIDB proof; tax clearance or SARS PIN verification; foreign/local tax-compliance where applicable.
• SBD returnables: SBD 1, SBD 6.1, SBD 4 and other mandatory documents (Annexures A–J); Integrity and other declarations as required (Annexures A–D, Annexure H–J).
• Local content/BBBEE evidence where applicable (Annexures G1–G4; Annexure I).
• NEC3 ECC3 contract terms; completed Pricing Schedule/BOQ (Attachment 4B) and Scope of Work (Attachment 3) (Attachment references in ITT).
• Functionality threshold: 70% minimum; price and specific-goal scoring under PPPFA 80/20.
• Mandatory safety/quality documents: Life Saving Rules, PPE, SHEQ requirements (see Attachments 9–23).
• Site visit requirement (where applicable) and compulsory clarification meeting.

How to Apply

• Briefing: compulsory site clarification on 23 June 2026 at Drakensberg Power Station; confirm attendance by 22 June 2026, 14:00 (ITT: E3058GXPOU).
• Submission: electronically via Eskom E-tendering; all documents PDFs, price list in PDF; max 500MB per document, total 4GB; no hard copies; status must be “complete” (ITT: E3058GXPOU).
• Deadlines: Tender closing 06 July 2026 at 10:00; tender validity 12 weeks (from closing).
