Overview

Online e-registration of forest industry investors (timber, plywood, pulp wood, treated transmission poles and fuel wood) for 2026/2027–2027/2028 to form a register of bidders eligible to purchase forest plantation materials. This is a Kenya Forest Service prequalification-style exercise. Firms in the forest industry (small, medium, and large) should consider registering if they own or lease sawmilling equipment and can meet mandatory technical and financial criteria. AGPO-registered firms are encouraged but must satisfy all requirements.

Requirements

• Mandatory registration documents (upload as scanned copies): certificate of registration/incorporation; CR12 (if applicable); KRA PIN for company and for each director; valid tax compliance certificate; VAT; PAYE; Audited accounts for last 3 years; Occupational Safety and Health certificate; Single Business Permit; land ownership document; Environmental documents (EIA/IEA/EA) where required (poles, plywood, pulp).
• Operational prerequisites: demonstrated ownership or lease of necessary sawmilling equipment; evidence required prior to registration. AGPO status encouraged but not sufficient alone.
• Eligibility steps: existing investors login with KRA PIN and re-submit; new applicants register via the e-registration pages. The process ends with physical verification before final registration and invitation to bid (REGISTRATION NOTICE).

How to Apply

• Visit the e-registration pages on the KFS site or the provided link (e.g., https://sawmillers.kenyaforestservice.org) and obtain guidance from the KFS, environment.go.ke, and tenders.go.ke portals.
• Submit scanned documents online before 11 August 2026 at 12 noon (online close). Note: the tender metadata lists 11 Aug 2026 10:00, but the registration documents state 12 noon; see REGISTRATION NOTICE (E-registration of Forest Industry Investors for 2026-2027/2027-2028).
• The system is not automatic; successful entrants undergo physical verification and will be notified by email (REGISTRATION INSTRUCTIONS).
