Overview

Design and construction of EV infrastructure at Matimba Power Station for a GX Pilot, for a 6-month period. Suitable bidders are electrical/civil contractors with power-station experience, able to implement Eskom’s Supplier Quality Management requirements (ISO 9001-based QMS) and OHS standards, and to meet local-content and e-tendering requirements. Key dates: site meeting (26 Aug 2026), compulsory clarification (03 Sep 2026), closing (17 Sep 2026, 10:00). Submission is electronic via Eskom eTendering.

Requirements

• ISO 9001-based Quality Management System (QMS) or documented QMS compliant with Eskom’s Supplier Quality Management Specification.
• Evidence of QMS in operation, including defined roles, supplier/external provider controls, and nonconformity handling.
• Draft Contract Quality Plan and Quality Control Plan/ITP for the scope of works.
• OHS compliance, including Eskom OHS requirements, induction of all personnel, and site-specific safety practices.
• Complete Local Content declarations (Annex C/D/E) and related SBD forms for local-content evaluation.
• Completion of required tender documentation (SBD 1, SBD 4, SBD 6.1, SBD 6.2, Tax Questionnaire) and Annexures A–J as applicable.
• CIDB registration (where applicable) and tax/compliance screenings (PAYE/NQ questionnaire).
• Pre- and post-contract QA and audit readiness, including assurance of external provider controls and contractor management.
• Site-specific risks and TEM/QA processes aligned to the NEC ECC3 framework (as applicable).
