Overview

The procurement is for the Establishment of an Enabling Agreement for North-East Grid - NTCSA for the disposal of 1 x 40MVA transformer at Rockdale substation on a one-off contract. Bidders with experience in transformer disposal/asset recovery, electrical equipment handling and compliance with Eskom OHS, EMS and environmental requirements should bid. The process is run by Eskom Transmission and involves a compulsory clarification meeting, electronic submission, and a 90-day tender validity period.

Requirements

• Compliance with Eskom Standard Conditions of Tender (Rev 12) and Tender Data.
• Adherence to health and safety and environmental requirements: Contractor Health and Safety Requirements (32-136, Rev 4), Life Saving Rules, and Eskom SHE/EMS guidelines.
• Submission of all required annexures and forms: SBD 1, SBD 4, SBD 6.1, Tenderer’s particulars, Integrity Declaration, Section 37(2) Agreement, and the Pricing Schedule/BOQ (PDF and Excel formats).
• Eligibility criteria: no sanctions or conflicts of interest, not on Tender Defaulters list, and (where applicable) ability to tender alone or as a JV/consortium with joint and several liability.
• Additional ITT requirements and attachments as listed in the Tender documents (including the compulsory clarification meeting and the 90-day tender validity).

How to Apply

• Prepare and submit via Eskom e-tendering site before the closing date/time (closing date/time: 21 October 2026, as per the ITT Rev 23). Clarification meetings are compulsory. Tender validity is 90 days.

• Ensure registrations or pre-qualifications as required by Tender Data and Eskom’s procurement policies; respond to any clarifications issued through the Eskom Representative.
