FABRICATION AND INSTALLATION OF S07 STEEL STRUCTURE

Overview

Procurement of fabrication and installation of the S07 steel structure for Transnet Port Terminals in Richards Bay; CIDB-registered bidders (3SL or higher) with compulsory briefing should bid. This is a one-off RFQ open to qualified steel fabrication/erection contractors.

Requirements

• CIDB grading 3SL or higher; pre-qualify before evaluation.
• Attend compulsory briefing/clarification session.
• Be CIDB-registered and meet pre-qualification criteria; provide proof (e.g., CIDB designation).
• Submit with bid: valid Tax Clearance, CIDB certificate, B-BBEE status (SANAS certificate or sworn affidavit for EMEs/QSEs), Central Supplier Database registration, and Workmen’s Compensation Fund good standing.
• Evidence of relevant experience (minimum four POs > R450k in past 2 years) and coded welders (4 certificates) as part of evaluation.
• Returnable documents and confirmation of attendance at the compulsory meeting (T2.2-02).
• Tender validity period: 12 weeks; no late submissions accepted.
• Preference points: 80/20 system (price 80; B-BBEE and specific goals up to 20).
• No alternative tenders; English tender; may require due diligence/verification.

• Compulsory briefing/clarification: 29 October 2026 at 11:00, Transnet Port Terminal, Harbour Umhlathuze Building, Port of Richards Bay; attendance is mandatory. Site visit PPE requirements apply (safety shoes, goggles, etc.).
• Site and document access: download bid documents from etenders.gov.za and Transnet esupplierportal; returnable documents (T2 schedules) to be completed and signed, including attendance certificates.
• Required registrations/pre-qualifications: CIDB 3SL+, CIDB registration proof, CSD registration, valid tax clearance, BBBEE evidence, WCF good standing, and other listed returnables.
• What to submit: completed RFQ forms, pricing in C2 schedules, Form of Offer & Acceptance, SBD4/SBD6 where applicable, and all returnable schedules (T2). See attached RFQ for detailed lists.
