FOR COLLECTION, TRANSPORTATION AND THERMAL DESTRUCTION OF BIOHAZARDOUS WASTE FROM ONDERSTERPOORT VETERINARY RESEARCH (OVR), FOR A PERIOD OF 12 MONTHS (1 YEAR)

Overview

Procurement of collection, transportation and thermal destruction of biohazardous waste from ARC Onderstepoort Veterinary Research (OVR) for 12 months. Bidders should have hazardous-waste management capabilities and hold valid licences (Waste Management Licence with WIR, hazardous goods transporter licence), be registered on the Central Supplier Database (CSD), and provide COIDA good standing. The contract covers waste from ARC OVR sites, with incineration/destruction and per-load/per-tonne pricing.

Requirements

• Valid Waste Management Licence (NEM: Waste Act 59/2008) with WIR; proof to be included; licence holder or signed MOU with accredited facility.
• Hazardous goods transporter licence or valid SLA/MOU with an accredited thermal treatment facility.
• CSD registration number and full CSD report.
• SARS tax pin and COIDA Letter of Good Standing.
• Completed SBD forms, company profile, and at least two reference letters for removal/disposal of biohazardous waste from BSL-3 facilities.
• Detailed project waste management plan and attendance at compulsory site briefing.
• Compliance with applicable legislation for disposal of material potentially containing foot-and-mouth disease, African swine fever and Rabies.
