Overview

Maintenance of 35 travelators (passenger conveyors) at OR Tambo International Airport for eight months. Bidders should be CIDB 4SI or higher and have proven travelator maintenance experience, including lift mechanics or electrical/mechanical engineering qualifications, and be prepared to meet insurance, tax/compliance, and BBBEE requirements under NEC3 terms.

Requirements

• Key personnel qualifications: Site Supervisor with SAQA-accredited mechanical or electrical qualifications plus a management/health and safety credential; Lift Mechanics with SAQA-accredited trade and related certification; Competent Operator. Foreign qualifications require SAQA/ECSA validation.
• Experience: Site Supervisor ≥5 years in maintenance of people movers; Lift Mechanic ≥5 years; ≥5 years OHS-related experience; relevant travelator maintenance/installation experience.
• References: Client letters for maintenance/installations; at least one reference value ≥R8M to accrue points; more references yield higher scores.
• Insurance: Professional Indemnity; Public Liability; Employer-provided insurance per the Insurance Schedule.
• Compliance: Tax compliance (SARS TCS PIN or CSD number); BBBEE evidence for preference scoring.
• Evaluation: Functionality (minimum 75/100) plus 80/20 price-preference; proof required for stated goals.
