Overview

Procurement of nationwide maintenance of railway track with an on-track ballast low-production screening machine package for 24 months. Transnet Rail Infrastructure Manager (RFP). Suitable bidders: CIDB civil engineering grade 7–9, with capacity to supply/operate ballast screener packages countrywide, meet health, safety and environmental requirements, and pursue enterprise development targets (minimum 30% of project value subcontracted to targeted enterprises). Open-line scope countrywide (22 TRIM depots; approx. 90 final track km/year).

Requirements

• Technical and operational: provide Normal Production Ballast Screener package (min 400 m3/h or 120 m/hr) plus accessories (2 ballast regulators, 2 tampers, stabiliser, TLB, 7 self-discharging wagons, fan wagon); fully self-propelled ballast screener and support units; operate open track and tunnels; schedule of machines covering depot-wide deployment; open-line working across country.
