Overview

Provision of a comprehensive cleaning service including equipment and consumables at the Orthotic and Prosthetic Centre, Pinelands for 3 years, under Western Cape Government Health & Wellness. Suitable bidders are cleaning service providers with at least 2 years’ experience, locally based staff, ability to supply cleaning materials/equipment, and compliance with health, safety and procurement requirements. Sustainability preferences apply to cleaning products and packaging.

Requirements

• Bids must use official forms, be deposited in a sealed envelope, and bid Box at Karl Bremer Hospital; late bids are not accepted.
• Registration and compliance: Central Supplier Database (CSD) registration; valid tax status; COIDA and OHS Act registration; Public Liability Insurance (min R5 million); VAT status; BBBEE documents (WCBD6.1, WCBD4); Annexures A & B; EMP 201 may be required.
• Staffing and conduct: locally based cleaners and supervisors; minimum wage compliance; on-site training before start and during contract; rosters and timekeeping; strict code of conduct, dress, ID badges, and professional behavior; hepatitis B vaccination records for staff.
• Service and operations: bidder to supply all cleaning materials, consumables, and equipment; transport; waste disposal; on-site accommodation/facilities for cleaning staff provided by OPC; access controls to OPC property.
• Performance and penalties: adherence to uniform/dress code, ID display, posting times, on-site presence; hygiene audits (monthly) with potential fines for non-compliance; penalties for various infringements (dress code, late posting, absences, untrained staff, etc.).
• Sustainability: preference for green cleaning products and packaging; demonstration of sustainability measures in line with WCGHW policy.
• Documentation: complete and sign WCBD1, WCBD3.2 (Pricing), WCBD4 (Declaration of Interest), WCBD6.1 (BBEE), and Annexures A/B; provide required Proofs and certifications.
