Overview

Four-year term contract for mechanical and other related major plant and machinery installation, maintenance, repair, refurbishment and upgrade for Northern Operations (Limpopo, Gauteng, Mpumalanga, and North West). Only respondents with CIDB 7ME or higher are eligible to bid; Tender requires demonstrable electrical experience or subcontracting a CIDB EP where applicable per area. The contract is for DWS Northern Operations with three area offices and compulsory site briefings.

Requirements

• CIDB registration 7ME+ (electrical experience or EP subcontractor as applicable).
• Demonstrable experience in associated electrical work or subcontract a CIDB EP contractor.
• Attendance at compulsory briefing session(s) and submission of Annexure A certificate of attendance.
• Compliance: CIDB registration, SARS tax compliance (TCS if applicable), CSD registration, COID good standing, and authority to sign.
• Joint ventures allowed with lead partner CIDB 7ME+ and appropriate lead/combined grading; JV agreement required.
• Complete and submit all returnable documents and schedules (SBDs 1, 4, 6.1, and Annexures A–W), fully pricing all price schedules.

• Submission deadline: 11:00 on 15 October 2026; tender validity 120 days.
• Submission method: Submit bid documents in a sealed package to the Bid Box at Zwamadaka Building, 157 Francis Baard Street, Pretoria (one original and one copy in separate envelopes). Telegraphic or email bids are not accepted. (See Bid documents: T1/T2, T2.1–T2.2).
• Documents to complete: SBD 1, SBD 3.2, SBD 4, SBD 6.1, Annexures A–W, including Annexure J (CIDB), Annexure L (CSD), Annexure K (Tax), Annexure M (COID), Annexure G (CIPC), Annexure N (Quality), Annexure P–S (offer/guarantee/health and safety).
• Pre-qualifications: CIDB 7ME+; SARS Tax Compliance status; CSD registration; COID good standing; authority to sign bid; proof of workshop capabilities and similar work; local content as per DTI requirements.
• Site briefings: Compulsory sessions at three venues (Doorndraai Dam, Limpopo; Injaka Dam, Mpumalanga; Hartbeespoort Dam, North West) on 15–21 September 2026; attendance is mandatory. (See Bid Invitation / Bid Document; and Annexure A).
